Protecting Wildlife and Empowering Communities

Motivated by the shared belief that protecting wildlife and biodiversity during this critical climate crisis is a collective duty, a group of dedicated individuals came together to establish the Society for Heritage & Ecological Researches (SHER) in 2011. As a non-profit organization, SHER holds that lasting progress depends on involving and empowering people and communities from all backgrounds to become active guardians of their environment.
Since its founding, SHER has been steadily working to protect biodiversity and support marginalized forest-dependent communities in Southern Bengal, with a special emphasis on the Sundarban Biosphere Reserve.
By collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders, SHER continues to strengthen efforts in biodiversity conservation, wildlife protection, and climate action.
